Collaborative Resume Development

To actively engage in the Collaborative Resume Development pathway and make the most of this career-building opportunity, be sure to follow the step-by-step guidance outlined below. Each step is designed to help you create a strong, polished resume that effectively highlights your skills, experiences, and achievements.

Choose the appropriate ATS (Applicant Tracking System) friendly resume template to craft your resume. Some students and alumni may have more than one resume, however you should have an ATS friendly resume as well.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) Template:

Take time to educate yourself about Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), how to write a professional resume, and powerful action verbs that describe experience and skills. Once your resume is complete and ready to review, the Self-Review Checklist is a great reflection and self review tool.

The Career Center hosts several resume-related workshops and events each semester. Refer to the events section on our Undergraduate Students page for upcoming resume workshops and events. If you are unable to attend a workshop or event, please complete the Resume Curriculum in Big Interview and earn the certificate of completion.

Once your resume is complete and ready for review, scan your resume on Big Resume. The Big Resume software will review your resume and offer spelling and grammar checks, formatting, AI generated recommendations, and more! Please review the feedback and recommendations, make any necessary/desired changes to your resume, and then scan your resume again to view updated results and additional feedback.

Fill out the Resume Review Request Form. This form verifies that you have completed all the required steps to partake in a resume review appointment.

Once a Career Center team member verifies that requirements have been met, you will receive an email with information on how to schedule an appointment.

You will meet with a Career Center member to review your resume. Please come prepared with your updated ATS-friendly resume and any questions that you have.
