The Actuarial Analyst role offers an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading team and engage closely with treaty reinsurance. You will collaborate with the regional broking and analytics teams on key insurance and reinsurance accounts in the Latin American and Caribbean regions, all within a fast-paced and supportive team environment. This position will involve working on existing accounts as well as prospecting for new business, with a strong emphasis on the Caribbean markets.
As a member of the regional Analytics team, you will provide actuarial support to sales and brokers, playing an integral role in designing and placing reinsurance structures across various classes of business.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, can effectively communicate actuarial concepts to non-actuarial insurance professionals, can develop innovative ideas, and is confident in expressing their opinions.

We will count on you to:
- Data collection and manipulation in spreadsheets and other database applications.
- Analysis of client data, creation of model assumptions and financial analysis and optimization of the client’s reinsurance structure using Guy Carpenter’s proprietary simulation software MetaRisk.
- Preparation of client pitches, presentations and client meetings and participations in discussions with clients and reinsurers.
- Communication and presentation of results and conclusions to brokers (and clients) in clear terms, tailored to the audience.
- Support of the renewal process through reinsurance pricing analysis and support of the broking team in negotiations with reinsurers.
- Deliver analysis according to internal analytical quality and compliance standards.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
- Sound oral and written communications skills in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus.
- Completion of 1 – 2 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams preferred
- Curious and proactive mindset: desire and ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
- Superior communication and presentation skills: an ability to translate complex technical analysis and concepts into easily understandable terms for brokers and clients
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and effective interpersonal skills that is a positive and helpful presence in colleague and client interactions.

- Proficient in MS Excel with skills in other MS Office products
- Willingness to travel
- Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
What makes you stand out, possibly through an internship:
- Familiarity with programming languages/visualization tool (i.e., R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI)
- Experience in a technical related role at a reinsurance broker, market, or catastrophe model software vendor
- Prior experience in relevant insurance / reinsurance field
- An understanding of the reinsurance industry and product lines
The applicable salary for this role is $75,000 to $80,000.
